Fundamentals of Drawing & Shading for Kids
Help your child build strong drawing and shading fundamentals
A Word from the Founder
Why I created this program
I have taught over 10,000 students the fundamentals of realistic drawing. With this kids' program, I wanted to give children the strong foundation that most beginners never receive — understanding how drawing works, instead of just copying pictures.
I have personally designed and structured this entire curriculum. The live classes are taught by Hima. S, a Certified Instructor at Hariarts Academy, so your child learns this proven method with the patient, hands-on guidance young learners need.

Build the right foundation from the beginning
Many children begin drawing by directly copying photographs or finished artworks. They may occasionally create a good-looking picture, but without understanding proportion, form, perspective, and light, they often struggle to draw confidently on their own.
This program helps children understand how drawing actually works. They learn to observe, simplify objects into basic forms, create depth, and use shading correctly — instead of merely copying outlines.
What children will learn
Six core building blocks, taught step by step.
Pencil control
Confident, steady strokes and the right grip to start every drawing well.
Shapes, forms & volume
Seeing objects as simple 3D forms — the key to drawing anything.
Perspective drawing
How to create depth and space so drawings feel real, not flat.
Human face drawing
The basic structure and proportions of the face, made simple for kids.
Fundamentals of shading
Light and shadow — how to make drawings look solid and three-dimensional.
Still-life drawing & shading
Putting it all together to draw and shade real objects from observation.
What Your Child Will Achieve
A strong foundation for their whole art journey
This is a foundation program — not an advanced course. By the end of 12 weeks, your child won't just be copying photographs. They'll understand how drawing actually works — proportion, form, perspective, and shading — and be able to draw and shade confidently from real understanding.
It's the difference between a child who copies pictures and a child who truly understands how to draw.
