Mrs Sharlet Sudharshan
Mrs. Sharlet Sudharshan is a rare blend of military excellence and artistic expression — a decorated officer of the Military Nursing Service (commissioned in 1997) and a passionate visual artist whose journey has gracefully intertwined discipline, creativity, and soulful storytelling through art.
During her distinguished military career, she was awarded multiple medals in Merit and Drills, and was recognized as the Best All-Rounder Cadet of her batch. Later, she was also honoured as the Best Officer of her INOC batch at Lucknow. Even amidst the rigor of defence life, her deep-rooted love for art remained unwavering. She actively took on creative assignments with remarkable zeal, which helped refine her natural talent and transform it into a lifelong pursuit of beauty and expression across multiple mediums.
As her artistic journey unfolded, she went on to study under the guidance of eminent artists such as Shri Sunil Linus De, Shri Sajeeve Basheer, Shri Hariprasad Sukumaran, and Ms. Dipannita Mukherjee. Their mentorship brought depth, technique, and inspiration to her evolving style.
Mrs. Sharlet has already exhibited her works in several prestigious art galleries across India, showcasing a body of work that reflects grace, emotion, and a deep sensitivity to detail. From solo showcases to group exhibitions in renowned venues like David Hall Fort Kochi, Balgandharva Pune, and Durbar Hall Ernakulam, her artistic presence continues to grow. Many of her works also adorn army institutions throughout the country, becoming a part of India's rich visual heritage.
Her love for teaching has also found meaningful expression — she served as an art instructor at the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla, where she inspired cadets to see art as a bridge between discipline and imagination.Â
